We've been involved with Govt.nz since before they launched their beta site in 2013. In 2016, we led the content stream for Births, Deaths and Marriages – the first government agency to transition entirely onto Govt.nz. We also worked on their much-loved style guide, cross-agency collaboration tool SmartStart, and the recent update of citizenship content.
Working with Katie and Sara at Sixtyproof is a delight. I am continually impressed by their standard of writing and the professional integrity they bring to creating content.
RealMe brought Sixtyproof in after customer feedback that users were finding their website hard to use and understand. Based on the results of extensive user testing, we developed a brand new IA and content strategy, and rewrote the site from the ground up.
Our written content has reduced in word count by about half. It is now organised in a way that better helps people to quickly find what they need, while keeping them engaged to get the full story. And most importantly user-testing shows comprehension and understanding has been greatly improved.
PwC Digital brought us in to produce new content for the Toolkit as part of a design refresh. Our job was to make the site clearer and easier to use without changing any meaning, as the original material had been peer reviewed by experts who weren’t available for the project. We gave each section of the site a consistent format and structure, cut repetition, and improved cross-links between related topics, as well as simplifying the language across the site.
After the launch, one of the subject matter experts who’d researched the original content told us that we’d “taken a wet bundle of flax and turned it into a beautiful kete”. One of our favourite compliments ever!
Kiwibank brought us in late in 2014 to rewrite the personal banking section of their website. Under tight timeframes and with limited budget, we worked with their design agency to produce a new IA, new page templates and all new content across the largest section of the site. The project should be live soon.
Sixtyproof are particularly capable of working across a large number of stakeholders (both internal and alongside other agencies), in complex regulatory situations and in a constantly changing technical, legal and cultural environment. I unreservedly recommend Sixtyproof to any organisation looking to create or recreate their content in an effective, sustainable and responsible way.
Many of the international students coming to Victoria have English as a second language, and travelling to New Zealand to study is often the biggest (and most terrifying) decision they’ve ever made — posing a content challenge we couldn’t resist. We’ve worked with Victoria to develop and test a new IA to help new international students through the application process, written all new content across the site, and developed a content strategy to help them maintain it.
Empathy brought us in to write the content for their refresh of the Business.govt staff and HR section. They’d developed an IA before engaging us that we then worked together to refine and expand as we worked through the content.
To me, they are the essence of quality content on the web.
